Sweepstakes Casino Glossary: Simple Meanings for GC, SC and More

By Wren Brightstar Coins, Rules & Game Terms

Wren connects glowing symbols above a star chart in the sweepstakes casino glossary.

Quick Answers

  • GC means Gold Coins for fun; SC means Sweeps Coins for sweepstakes play.
  • AMOE is a way to enter without a purchase; KYC is an identity check; RNG creates random values for games.
  • An SC balance is not an approved prize: play, account and prize rules still apply.

From Wren’s Navigation Notes

The Right Name on the Wrong Route

On an early survey assignment, I inherited a tidy set of maps compiled over several years. Some coordinates needed updating. More importantly, the same route name appeared on different paths because later crews had reused familiar labels.

Everyone recognized the names, so few people checked which coordinates accompanied them. Two crew members could give equally confident directions and send a survey team to entirely different places. Confidence was not the missing coordinate.

This glossary gives each term a short meaning and identifies the part of the system it describes. When that term affects what you do next, follow its link and check the complete rules.

GC, SC and Your Balance

Our coin terms
Term Simple meaning
Gold Coins: GC Coins for play-for-fun games. GC and GC results cannot be redeemed for prizes.
Sweeps Coins: SC Coins for sweepstakes play. You cannot buy SC directly.
GC balance The number of Gold Coins in your account.
SC balance The number of Sweeps Coins in your account. The full balance may not meet the prize rules.
Eligible SC SC that meet the rules for the use being discussed. For a prize, we check the play and all prize rules.
Coin mode The GC or SC option chosen for play. Read its label before you start.

GC do not turn into SC. Some GC packages include free SC, but the two balances stay separate. Our GC and SC guide explains more.

AMOE and Offer Terms

AMOE
Alternative method of entry: a way to enter without a purchase. Our handwritten mail request may provide 5 SC when it meets every rule.
No purchase necessary
You do not need to buy anything to get SC, enter or win at Win Bonanza. A purchase does not improve your chances. Other player and offer rules still apply.
Promotional SC
SC from an offer or collection method allowed by our rules. Check any terms attached to them.
Daily bonus
An account bonus with its own claim rules. Our daily SC bonus may depend on your SC balance.
Offer period
The time when an offer applies. Check its start, end, time zone and what you must do before it ends.
Official rules
The full instructions for entry, play and prizes. Read them with our Terms and the offer’s own rules.
Expiry or forfeiture
When you lose something under its rules. SC expire 60 days after your last login. We send an email before you lose them.

Our mail entry guide helps with AMOE. Use the exact required statement and envelope wording from the live Sweepstakes Rules.

Who Can Play and Where

Age of majority
The legal adult age that applies to you. For our sweepstakes play, you must be at least 18, or that age if it is higher.
Eligible participant
A person who meets all the rules to take part. These include age, home address, current location, account and ID checks.
Sweepstakes Permitted Territory
A place where we allow sweepstakes play under our rules. Other sites may have different lists.
Excluded Territory
A place where our rules do not allow sweepstakes play. Signing up somewhere else does not change that.
Restricted Jurisdiction
A place with a special rule. Florida has a 4,900 SC maximum redemption value for a prize from one play.
Physical location
Where you are now. It may be different from your home address when you travel.
One-account rule
Each person may have one Win Bonanza account. Ask support to fix an account problem; do not open another.
VPN
Virtual private network, a tool that routes your internet connection through another network. Do not use it or another tool to hide or change your location.

Wren’s Field Note

Give Words a Place

In the Meridian Spindle archive, I keep coin terms with coin records and route terms with route records. I place a status beside the exact balance, action, or rule it describes. Context is part of the definition.

That prevents a word such as “eligible” from being mistaken for blanket approval. Something may be eligible for one step without meeting the conditions for the next. A useful label tells us what it applies to—and where it stops.

KYC, Required Play and Prize Requests

KYC
Know Your Customer: checks of your identity and account. We may check age, address, location or ownership of an account or payment method.
Proof of residence
An accepted record with your name and home address. Follow our request for the record type and how recent it must be.
Playthrough
The total play that must count under the rules before SC can be used for a prize. Our general rule is 1× unless another rule applies. That means using the required amount once in qualifying play. It does not promise your balance afterward.
Prize redemption
The process of requesting and receiving a prize with SC won through qualifying play. We check the person, account, SC and prize rules.
Prize review
Our checks on a prize request. Review may take up to one month after all requested records arrive and you pass KYC and legal review. This is not a delivery promise.
Daily request limit
A rule for prize requests in a day. Our minimum is 50 eligible SC and maximum is 9,550 SC. Other play and state limits also apply.
Transaction history
Your account record of GC purchases and prize redemptions. The view shows the past 14 days, so save useful records while you can.

Our prize request guide puts the steps in order. You do not need to keep playing to reach a request minimum.

RNG and Game Math

RNG
Random number generator: a system that creates values the game uses to choose events.
PRNG
Pseudorandom number generator: software that follows a math process to create a sequence of values.
Seed and internal state
A seed is starting data. Internal state is the data a generator keeps and updates. A game result on screen does not show all of that data.
Entropy source
A source of uncertainty used to make random data. It is about how data are made, not how an animation looks.
Mapping or scaling
Turning generator values into a game’s possible events while keeping the intended odds.
Probability
The chance that an event will happen under a set of rules.
Independence
When one result does not change another’s chances. Some features change as you play, so check the game rules first.
Volatility
How widely game results can vary. It is not a forecast of the next result.
Hit frequency
How often a set type of result occurs in the game math or a sample. Check which result is being counted.

Our RNG guide explains these parts. GLI and NIST guides give general technical facts. They do not prove a specific game has passed a test.

Make an Unfamiliar Term Useful

  1. Find Its Role

Does it describe coins, an entry method, a rule, an account status, or a game feature?

  2. Read the Meaning

Check what the term means for this account, offer, or game.

  3. Check the Rules

Open the full rules before you act on the definition.

A glossary explains the words. The rules for your offer or game still apply.

Game Feature Terms

Winline
A line or pattern used to count matching symbols. The game rules define it.
Cluster result
A result based on matching symbols next to each other. Each game sets how many must connect and how.
Multiplier
A number used to increase a result, such as 2×. Check which result it applies to and when.
Bonus round
An extra part of a game that starts under set rules. Its name does not tell you the chance of reaching it.
Auto play
A feature that starts a chosen number of plays where offered. It does not make results predictable.

Take the Word Back to Its Rules

When a term affects your next step, first identify what it names: a coin, an entry method, a rule, a status, or a game feature. Then consult the full source. A glossary provides orientation; it does not contain every condition.

I kept the old survey maps, but dated them and marked which route each label referred to. They remained useful once nobody mistook an old name for current directions. Recognition is not the same as orientation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do GC and SC mean?

GC means Gold Coins, used for play for fun. SC means Sweeps Coins, used for sweepstakes play. GC cannot be exchanged for prizes; SC must meet separate play and prize rules.

What is the difference between AMOE and KYC?

AMOE is an alternative method of entry without a purchase. KYC means Know Your Customer: the identity and account checks we may require. They describe different parts of the process.

Is an SC balance the same as an approved prize?

No. Your SC balance shows coins in your account. A prize request still has to meet our play, account and prize rules.

Does RNG tell me what the next game result will be?

No. RNG means random number generator. It creates values used to choose game results. The game’s rules explain how those values relate to symbols, features and results.

She has a label maker, too. The crew treats this as a mixed blessing.
